Mahindra’s upcoming Vision S electric SUV is already generating strong buzz, and fresh leaked images of its interior are adding fuel to the excitement. First showcased as a concept during Mahindra’s mega Independence Day event alongside the new NU_IQ platform, the Vision S is expected to be one of the brand’s most important future launches. Now, with near-production cabin images surfacing online, we get our clearest look yet at what buyers can expect.
Familiar Yet Practical Cabin Layout
The leaked images reveal that Mahindra has stayed close to the original concept’s design philosophy while making sensible changes for production readiness. The dashboard layout appears modern and well-structured, with the distinctive double trapezoidal AC vents retained from the concept model. These vents give the cabin a bold and futuristic character, instantly setting it apart from current Mahindra offerings.
However, one noticeable change is the absence of the connected dual-screen setup seen on the concept. Instead of two adjacent 12.3-inch displays, this test mule features a centrally mounted touchscreen infotainment system, currently covered, along with a conventional instrument cluster that includes a small multi-information display. This suggests that Mahindra may be reserving the full digital layout for higher variants closer to launch.
Physical Controls Still Play a Role
Unlike many modern SUVs that rely heavily on touch-based interfaces, the Vision S appears to strike a balance between digital and physical controls. The centre console remains largely unchanged from the concept and includes twin cupholders and an automatic gear selector. Notably, Mahindra has retained physical buttons for infotainment shortcuts and automatic climate control, a decision that should improve ease of use during everyday driving.
Another change spotted in this test vehicle is the missing electronic parking brake, which was present in the concept version. This could indicate cost-based differentiation across variants, with higher trims likely offering more premium features when the production model arrives.
Seating, Sunroof, and Premium Expectations
The leaked cabin images also confirm the presence of a panoramic sunroof, reinforcing Mahindra’s intent to position the Vision S as a lifestyle-oriented SUV. The seats in this particular test mule are finished in fabric upholstery with contrast stitching, giving the interior a clean and contemporary look.
That said, expectations remain high for the top variants. Mahindra is likely to offer leatherette upholstery, ventilated front seats, and a powered driver seat in higher trims. Overall, the cabin design looks fresh, spacious, and premium enough to take on established rivals in the segment.

On the outside, the Mahindra Vision S stays true to its rugged roots. Spy images show a boxy silhouette inspired by classic off-road SUVs, drawing comparisons with the Land Rover Defender. Up front, the SUV features a large grille with thick horizontal slats, paired with circular LED headlights and LED daytime running lights similar to those seen on the Thar ROXX.
The side profile highlights strong proportions, chunky body cladding, and large 18-inch alloy wheels that enhance its muscular stance. At the rear, vertically stacked LED taillights and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel reinforce the SUV’s tough and adventurous character.
Expected Powertrain Options and Launch Timeline
Mahindra is expected to offer the Vision S with multiple powertrain options to appeal to a wide range of buyers. The test mule spotted was equipped with a diesel automatic setup, likely the familiar 1.5-litre diesel engine currently used in models like the Thar three-door and XUV 3XO. A 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine is also expected to be part of the lineup.
As per current reports, the Mahindra Vision S is likely to make its official debut in early 2027. With its modern interior, rugged design, and flexible powertrain strategy, the Vision S could emerge as a strong contender against rivals such as the Tata Sierra, Kia Seltos, and Renault Duster.
